Comments from John Guest's post on this image in the Ruyton Revisited FB Group in June 2026 - Julia Walkey "I worked in the cheese wrapping room... it was hard at times." Michael Cole adds "My uncle Harry Williams of Oswestry, I believe, was a foreman who worked there for many years and was USDAW union rep. He often cycled to work from Oswestry..." Sharon Golding comments "My dad Dave Tivnen worked there, I think late 1970s and 1980s." Margaret Humphreys recalled "My dad Ron Goodwin worked there as a forklift driver for many years. My husband Brian Humphreys too, and my cousin John Wigley as a foreman for a long time-he passed away a month ago in May 2026... so yes we have lots of memories of the dairy." Steve Ingraham-Morgan explains "Both my parents and most of my aunts and uncles worked there at some point. I ended up in another part of the country in a management team with one of the managers brought in to close Ruyton dairy down; that was a bit awkward for a while when I explained how many of my relatives he helped put out of work" Angela Dawn Davies comments "... wow I never knew that. I remember the day we were all told to go to the canteen and we received the awful news that the dairy was closing."
