It was only when all the shops were being closed and the properties and leases sold off that my parents were rehoused in Council accommodation." Roger Frost comments "Walter Nell presenting my father with a silver cigarette box. He started working for T.H Lewis in Chalk Farm in 1933 and apart from his war service from 1940 untill 1946 he stayed with them until he retired. From being demobbed in 1946 until the mid 1960s our family lived in flats over Express Dairy shops.
