1956 Norbury Depot Driving Test report for Ronald Smith. Michael Aldread comments "Passed my test at Canonbury depot in 1983 in a 3-wheeler Reg 8084 BY, my license was 'full' for electric vehicles only." Robin Fraser Bell remembers "Passed my driving test in a 3-wheeler Wales & Edwards, 20 days after my 17th birthday back in 1975, had been driving one with L-plates on my own prior to that, but it meant I could only drive milk floats, passed my car test five months later." Chris Austen remembers "The examiner here is Sid/Syd Bishop; he also conducted testing on fork-lift trucks. I passed my test at Mottingham in 1960 driving an electric vehicle; it meant that I was covered for other vehicles up to and including Class 1 HGVs!!! My examiner was Denis Wilkins. I already held a motorcycle licence. In order to confront my brothers, who would always mention this test when discussing who was the best driver, I took, and passed, the Institute of Advanced test!!!" (Courtesy Mark Hudson)

John Stonehill remembered a story from his father, also John "The first time Sid Marie went out delivering milk from Robart's farm, by the time he had finished going up and down the many side streets he had lost his bearings and wasn't too sure of the way home again. He tried to remember but the horse fought back and in the end he just let go of the reins and the horse set off at a brisk pace directly back to the farm."
