1963 New Electric Milk Float from W&E, Shrewsbury Hilary Mccluskey comments "My family's dairy business was BOWYERS DAIRY at Shirley. We purchased two of these Wales & Edwards milk floats in the same year. They were easy to drive and my Uncle and I drove them to the local weigh bridge for weighing before registration. One had to pass a test to be able to drive them, but the licence issued then enabled you to drive a car - there was obviously a queue from our roundsmen to take the test! The law was later changed. Bowyers’ Dairy sold out to Express Dairy on July 4th 1964 and me along with it! Then followed 30 happy years with Express Dairy and Express Foods.
