1979 Bromley Pintie Changeover from Express News (Peter Beaumont, Jock Duncan, Percy Wales, Cyril Page, Michael Riley, Frank Levitt, William Page, Alf Kimber, Dick Crowley, Harry Brown) Michael Strotton comments "I lived opposite in College Road 1956 to 1978. Looked out onto Farwig Lane, The Royal Oak pub and the bottling plant. There was also an Express dairy shop and a post office in College Road. Frequently heard glass breaking when crates got dropped, and the stream of tankers bringing in the milk."

1976 Bromley. Graham Roberts writes "This is Farwig Lane and the site that was occupied by Express Dairy. I was walking home from Bromley North Station when I took this photo. A Securicor van was parked at the dairy to collect the Friday takings, this was the day the milkmen collected money on their rounds. Suddenly the doors of a van burst open and out jumped some men shouting, firing guns and then robbing the cash being taken to the van. One of the robbers shouted 'Where is he?', I think maybe the getaway driver hadn’t arrived as planned and the robbers ran off in all directions. No one was hurt luckily but I’m told a bullet was found in the headlamp of a nearby parked car." (Courtesy Graham Roberts)
Bromley Processing site in Farwig Lane. Paul Batchelor remembers "When the Bromley bottling centre closed the machinery was cleared out. The EVM department made some alterations and installed battery chargers ready for the milk floats coming in from the retail depot next door, which was being closed. We moved into the old building and had our parts store and office there temporarily. I was asked by my manager to go to a new site in Old Holmesdale Road, which would become the new Bromley retail depot within three months. I was asked to select two engineers to work with me; it was a major task installing 75 brand new battery chargers. New transit vans were ordered as Orpington depot was also closing and some vehicles moving in there, and Welling depot. All new granite floors were laid in the depot, a new cold store installed and Servery. I had an office attached to our workshop. I then moved on to another new depot at Anerley with the same staff again to have ready within three months with another 75 chargers and new Ford transits. Mission completed on time."
