1961 Cigarette Case presented to R.T. Jones, Minsterley after 26 years service. Mike Challinor comments "I worked with Tom in the fitter’s shop for the 7 years I was there-a great chap who I had a lot of respect for. I vividly remember the day I got the phone call in the Canning Line office asking if I still wanted to join Shropshire Fire Brigade. I had a few reservations but sat down with Tom in the workshop and talked it through. I took his advice and handed in my notice that afternoon. He helped me weigh up the pros and cons - always be grateful." Clare Bennett provided these photos on behalf of Ben Samuels and Brian Bennett, Tom's nephews.

I started working at Minsterley when I left school in 1977. Churn collection had stopped a year or two earlier but the churn washer was still used when I started-I can hear it now clunk clonk, and was used most days. The churns were used throughout the factory for all sorts of jobs, so our boss told me to paint the ones we used yellow so no one would take them. Ann Worrall added more information "Steve O'Rourke came to Minsterley when we had an influx from Cuddington in about 1973/75, with Dave Stoneman, Henry Roberts, John Travis, Brian Suckley and others. I think Steve came here to manage the Chemi Lab. In 1971 Barry Seward was Assistant lab manager with Mr Johnson (Johnny) Lab Manager. Barry was replaced by Neil Henderson 2 or 3 years later, if I’m correct. Peter Stelfox Griffin was Cottage Cheese lab supervisor.
