1980's Appleby. David comments "This was a 'bomb scare' picture-a trailer came from Northern Ireland with notes taped to the trailer leg, which were mistaken for a suspect device. The whole plant was evacuated, with fire hoses at the ready if needed" Russ Park adds "Whole plant evacuated, except for the press room...which was closest to the wagon". When he left, i took over Milk Movements and Milk Purchasing and so we worked together for some time...he had had a rough time in POW camp which he didn't like to discuss but it left him very bitter with Japanese."
