1928 Neville and Griffin Grocers at 84 High Street, Slough."The window of Neville and Griffin also advertises Park Dairy who may have supplied them with local dairy products. Neville and Griffin occupied the shop from 1903 until 1978. The shop to the right appears to be a butcher's and the man talking to the policeman is probably the butcher in his striped apron. The shop on the left is advertising Cadburys Chocolate." (Courtesy Reg Harrison Collection, Slough Library)

1980 Neville and Griffin Dairy was founded by William Neville in 1857 and was bought by E.Griffin in 1899. "The OS map for 1876 shows a smaller building occupying the site and this appears to have subsequently expanded by taking over part of the rear gardens of 37 and 39 Church Street. The dairy was closed down by this time and awaiting demolition. By 1994 the OS map shows that the whole area between Church Street and Victoria Street had been redeveloped as housing."
