I started working at Minsterley when I left school in 1977. Churn collection had stopped a year or two earlier but the churn washer was still used when I started-I can hear it now clunk clonk, and was used most days. The churns were used throughout the factory for all sorts of jobs, so our boss told me to paint the ones we used yellow so no one would take them. Harry Evans adds "Looks like Jim Telford at the back." (Joe Lyons Collection)”
