Chris Austen adds "I remember the store, which was opposite Sainsburys and close to Streatham Hill Railway Station! I lived two miles away at the time!!".

1920. Woburn Buildings, 2-14 Dukes Road, Euston, remains one of London's most picturesque places. Built to serve the grand houses on the adjacent Bedford Estate, they form part of Thomas Cubit's original design of 1822 with a beautiful sequence of curved bay windows to the shops. Milk and fresh farm produce were brought into the great railway stations daily; hence the line of milk churns on the footway, which still retains the original massive York stone slabs over the cellars beneath. 1943. 92-101 Snowsfields, Bermondsey, wartime view but could have been taken 50 years earlier. Little has changed - dingy, soot-blackened frontages and an air of world-weary decrepitude characterised many of London's poorest districts. Surprisingly for wartime, Oxford Farm Dairy is well-stocked with canned produce. (Courtesy GLC Historic Buildings Collection)
