1967 Mrs E.P. Cook (Kenley), Miss M. Linford (Chief Office), Mrs M.E. Bennett (Tavistock Services) and Miss M. Purkiss (Chief Office) attend Long Service Dinner at the Berners Hotel. Hilary Mccluskey comments "My goodness, there’s a blast from the past! Mrs Cook was the lovely Chief Clerk at Kenley Depot. One of her clerks had hearing problems, and Mrs Cook was extremely patient and always made her part of the office team. Miss Lindford was the Area Supervisor when we sold our business (Bowyers Dairy) to Express. She arrived on Day one of the takeover and her main concern was to get our Office Staff to wear Express Dairy overalls! I can confirm that that I NEVER did! Miss Purkiss succeeded Miss Lindford as Area Supervisor and was a breath of fresh air. I am certain that we were not easy to deal with having come from a Family Business. Chris Austen adds "You will also remember that Miss Purkiss was my Area Clerical Supervisor!" (Express News Summer)

Dave Fane comments "Great picture, just as I remember the Wales & Edwards in the 1960s, no indicators, W&E badge on the front and side and plastic W&E fitting in the middle of the steering wheel." Daral Brennan comments "Living in Woodland Rise N10, we obviously had our milk delivered by Express Dairies in Muswell Hill. They offered more than milk for sale, as anyone who remembers them knows (including bacon, eggs, sausage, bread). A fantastic service for the local community. And of course, paid for at the end of the week - mum loved that! As a kid in the 1960s, their silent milk floats were the first electric vehicles I remember; I found the sound of bottles rattling in their crates outside my bedroom window strangely comforting early in the morning, announcing the start of another day while breaking the silence of the night before". Barbara Ann West adds "Express Dairy at Muswell Hill stabled their milk float horses there. Myself and 3 or 4 other girls of a similar age used to love being at the stables when the horses were being untacked after a day's work and seeing them come alone down the ramp into their stalls to a well earned meal." Ian Pearce remembers "I was a 'milk boy' on one of these - had to help load the crates at the Depot - now the Mussie Well - collect money etc. People often left money on the doorstep rather than be woken early for payment! Different times." Robert Gee says "I used to work as an milk boy there back in the day, every weekend and more..."
